At Edify & Empower, we approach educational partnerships with the same care, safeguarding awareness, and transparency that guide our work with families in the UK. Education operates within a high-trust space, and responsibility increases when impact extends beyond the classroom.
Our partnership with TZ Rising, a UK-registered charity (#1162345), is grounded in due diligence and lived engagement. Founder-led involvement, with Michael and Innocent in support of the charity’s education programme, reflects a commitment that is practical and sustained.
As specialists in long-term, relational education, we recognise when learning becomes protective and transformative. TZ Rising’s model, supporting girls through secondary school, college, and into independent income, aligns with evidence-based practice and safeguarding-led educational access.
Educational Philosophy & Mission
Why We Support TZ Rising
In August 2025, Rachel, Founder of Edify & Empower, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro along with a team of fabulous volunteers to raise funds and awareness for the charity. This was not a symbolic gesture, but a deliberate act of solidarity with the young women TZ Rising supports: many of whom live in the shadow of the mountain itself.
Beyond fundraising, our partnership is rooted in shared responsibility. We believe that organisations working in education have a duty to look beyond borders and consider the global systems that shape opportunity, access, and safety.
TZ Rising supports girls and women through every educational stage — from lower secondary school to professional independence. Some are first-generation learners. Some are mothers returning to education. All are treated as capable, ambitious individuals with futures worth investing in. Their community-led approach ensures that each young woman is: Known personally Supported academically and practically Guided into sustainable employment or enterprise

We support TZ Rising because education is one of the most effective forms of long-term protection. Sustained access to learning increases independence, reduces vulnerability, and strengthens communities. Their relational, long-term model mirrors our own belief that education must be consistent and humane to be transformative. Where education creates freedom, it also creates a responsibility to protect access to it.
Join the community on the iconic Jurassic Coast and challenge yourself over one or two demanding days. Your steps help fund education, training, and long-term independence for young women in Tanzania.
